(Santa Ana, CA) – Senator Thomas J. Umberg (D-Santa Ana) announced today that, in honor of Women’s History Month, he will be hosting his sixth annual 34^th Senate District Women of Distinction Event in March. 

“Our state and nation become stronger with every additional woman who seeks and strives for positive social change,” noted Senator Umberg.  “As a husband and father of two such strong women, I know full well the impact educated, independent, and confident women have on our community, and the importance of recognizing their many achievements. Only by doing so can we pave the path for the next generation of female leaders.”

An event honoring the Women of Distinction Event of the 34^th Senate District will take place in March, with further details to follow. Nomination forms for the Senator’s event are live and can be found on the Senator’s website, his social media pages, or at: https://bit.ly/4hiKgU9 

Nominations will be accepted through Friday, February 28^th.

Senator Umberg concluded by noting that, “We all know at least one woman in our life who has blazed a path for others, improved their community, or has regularly gone above and beyond. I look forward to recognizing some of Orange County’s most impressive female leaders.”

Senator Thomas J. Umberg represents the 34^th Senate District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, La Habra, Orange, 

Placentia, Santa Ana, and East and South Whittier. Umberg is a retired U.S. Army Colonel, former federal prosecutor, and small businessman.
