Senator Umberg Announces Saturday Health & Resource Fair

(Santa Ana, CA) – Today, in cooperation with the Office of Anaheim Council member Carlos Leon and Loara High School, Senator Thomas J. Umberg announced a partnership with over thirty community organizations to provide free healthcare services and resources to residents at an upcoming community health fair. At this event, residents will be able to receive free dental screenings, mammograms, asthma screenings, general health screenings, vision screenings and glasses, healthcare information and much more.

“With the overwhelming success of our previous health fairs, we were eager to host our biannual health and resources fair in our new district,” said Senator Umberg. “Attendees will see familiar faces and services being offered by some of Orange County’s best and brightest alongside some fantastic new resources.”

If you or a family member are interested in receiving a free mammogram, please register for an appointment with Alinea by visiting the following link: www.alineamed.com/loara-hs or call: 909-622-3166

For women over 40 without symptoms, mammography is typically covered. For those under 40, you must have a doctor’s order. If you are under 30 the doctor’s order must specify why you are high risk (such as strong family history, BCRA mutation, etc.) If you have insurance, please bring proof of insurance to the event and present it when you go for your screening. If you do not have insurance, you may still receive a free screening courtesy of the California Department of Health Care Services’ Cancer Detection Program for any and all women who are 40 years or older, have low household income, and no insurance.

Anaheim Councilmember Leon added, “I am thrilled to once again join forces with Senator Umberg for our upcoming health fair in Anaheim’s District 2. This partnership underscores our shared commitment to enhancing the well-being of our Anaheim and Orange County communities, providing essential health services and access to important resources and information at no cost. Together with our partners, we are dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of our community members, ensuring they have access to the care and resources they need to thrive.”

Senator Umberg also stated that, “I would like to extend special thanks to Loara High School for hosting the event, the Children’s Hospital of Orange County for once again providing free asthma screenings, Lestonnac Free Clinic for providing vision screenings, glasses, and dental screenings, and Alinea Medical Imaging for providing mammogram screenings.”

Senator Thomas J. Umberg represents the 34th Senate District, which includes the cities of Anaheim, Buena Park, Fullerton, Garden Grove, La Habra, Long Beach, Orange, Placentia, Santa Ana, and East and South Whittier.
