ADVISORY: Senators Umberg & Dodd to Dedicate Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway on Monday

Senators Thomas J. Umberg (D – Orange County) and Bill Dodd (D – Napa) will be joined by former Senator and retired Superior Court Judge, Quentin L. Kopp, in Sonoma on Monday, March 14th to dedicate a portion of Highway 37 as the Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway.


Senator Umberg and Assemblymember Daly Amend Orange County Veteran’s Cemetery Bill

(Sacramento, CA) – Senator Thomas J. Umberg (D-Santa Ana) is debuting amendments to his Senate Bill (SB) 43, which pertains to the development of a Southern California Veterans Cemetery. SB 43, as introduced earlier this year, requires the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) to work with local government entities in Orange County to develop a long-discussed cemetery and memorial in the area.  Amendments debuted today will allow CalVet to conduct a feasibility study to also consider additional property currently being discussed in the City of Anaheim.

Senator Umberg Delivers $10 Million in Dual Language Immersion Funding to Schools

(WESTMINSTER, CA) – Earlier today, Senator Thomas J. Umberg (D – Orange County) presented a check for $10 million to California schools at Cecil B. DeMille Elementary School in Westminster. The check represents statewide grant funding that is likely to be used by the Garden Grove Unified, Westminster, and Anaheim Union High School Districts to support their dual language immersion programs.
