A Note From Tom Umberg:

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, it is important to reflect on the responsibilities that come with our freedoms, including protecting the right to vote.

Earlier this month, I was proud to launch Hands Off Our Elections, a legislative effort to protect California's elections from federal interference, voter intimidation, and unconstitutional attempts to undermine our democracy.

California has both the right and the responsibility to run safe, secure and fair elections, and we will continue working to protect the integrity of our elections and the rights of every voter.

I wish you and your family a safe and happy Fourth of July. Thank you for the opportunity to serve the 34th Senate District. As always, my office is here if we can ever be of assistance.

Domo Café Grand Opening

Team Umberg joined the City of Buena Park and the North Orange County Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the grand opening of the first Domo Café in the United States. Inspired by the beloved Japanese character Domo, the café offers Japanese-inspired comfort food in a fun, immersive setting for families, friends, and fans alike. Congratulations to the Domo Café team on this exciting milestone, and welcome to Buena Park!

Installation of Rabbi Tim Gaylord

I had the privilege of speaking at Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana to welcome Rabbi Tim Gaylord as the synagogue's newly installed rabbi. Serving as a religious leader is no small responsibility, despite my own childhood ambition of becoming what I can only describe as a "cowboy priest." I congratulate Rabbi Gaylord and the Temple Beth Sholom community, and wish him success as he begins this important chapter.

Brown Bag Lunch with Fellows

This month, our office hosted the California Senate Fellows for the Brown Bag Lunch, a longstanding Senate Fellows Program tradition that gives Fellows the opportunity to hear directly from Senators about their paths to public service and experiences in the Legislature.

I shared my journey to the State Senate and reflected on some of the most meaningful policy fights I have been a part of, including advancing LGBTQ+ rights and protecting California's elections. It was a pleasure to meet with this impressive group of future leaders, and I look forward to seeing the impact they will make across California.
