Fentanyl Awareness Day – Educate Yourself
Dear Friend:
The safety and well-being of our community is always of utmost importance, which is why I am proud to participate in National Fentanyl Awareness Day on April 29, 2025.
#TeamUmberg is joining hundreds of organizations nationwide to protect lives from the dangers of illicit fentanyl. While recent data shows some progress in reducing overdose deaths, fentanyl remains a critical threat to our communities—especially our youth. Nearly half of teens don't know that deadly fentanyl is used to make fake prescription pills sold on social media and in neighborhoods across the country.
I encourage you to take action by:
- Learning the facts about today's drug landscape
- Starting conversations with your family about fentanyl safety
- Sharing lifesaving information on social media using #NFAD2025
Visit www.fentanylawarenessday.org for resources, videos, guides and tools to help protect your loved ones. You can also find local resources and information and efforts pertinent to California on my website at: https://sd34.senate.ca.gov/fentanyl-resources.
Together, we can make a difference.
Stay safe, #SD34, and don’t hesitate to call my office with any questions or concerns about this or any other state matter.
Sincerely,
THOMAS J. UMBERG
