District Office Internship

Senator Thomas J. Umberg seeks enthusiastic high school, college students, and recent college graduates for our internship program. 

Our internship program offers a unique opportunity to learn about the functions of state government, and the work that the Senator is doing for the communities of Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Los Alamitos, Midway City, Orange, Rossmoor, Santa Ana, Seal Beach and Westminster.

Interns will work with our district staff to help constituents navigate state government to solve their problems, engage community outreach efforts, assist local organizations, organize civic events and projects, database development and upkeep, staffing the office, and other activities.

Availability for Communications interns will also be available to assist the Communications Director with a number of media-related projects including, website maintenance, writing projects, social media outreach, research, event coordination, media list clean-up and other administrative duties.

This internship is unpaid, but school and university credit is available. Interns must commit to a minimum of 12 hours per week.
